Fountainhead Development, Inc. (FDI) is owned by a longtime Fairbanks family and has played an active role in the development of the Fairbanks community for over 25 years. FDI has been involved in a wide variety of business endeavors and projects that include real estate development and construction, residential and commercial property management, and hospitality. FDI employs a staff of over 175 year-round employees and over 200 additional seasonal employees. Fountainhead Development, Inc. is a leader in Fairbanks.

FDI is the front-runner in commercial and residential real estate.  Currently owning and managing over 500,000 square feet of commercial space in Fairbanks, which includes a wide range of property types from basic steel warehouse space to retail/medical office space. While FDI specializes in the repositioning of existing real property we also have an extensive “build to suit” portfolio. On the residential side, FDI owns and manages over 200 residential units in Fairbanks.

FDI is the first choice in the Fairbanks hospitality industry, owning four uniquely distinct hotels in Fairbanks: The Bridgewater Hotel, a downtown boutique hotel which includes the Bridgewater Café; Bear Lodge, at Wedgewood Resort, includes The Golden Bear Restaurant, The Bear’s Tale Lounge and Bear Essentials Internet Café & Gift Shop; Sophie Station Suites, home to Zach’s Restaurant and The Express Room Lounge; and Wedgewood Resort which includes an extensive catering and conference facility.

In addition to its hotel division, FDI has provided the community with two wonderful family attractions in Fairbanks. The Wedgewood Wildlife Sanctuary and the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum are located on the grounds of Wedgewood Resort. Both of these attractions have served to increase interest in Fairbanks as a travel destination.
